Monday Evening Special at Spur Constantia Park

Monday at Spur is Two burgers for one.

Doug organised a visit for all 'family' to be there together.

Absolutely lovely view out of the window!

And precious people enjoying the evening together.

Doug, Nadia, Jarom, Ethan, Daena and Cabryn.
Erene, Marian (Erene's mother) and Kayla.
Roisin, (Nadia's sister) Erin, Chloe and Seth.
and Glenn Judy and Vi.

Doug helped us make another memory.

Marvelous Meander Homewards

I went to get quotes for repairing my hail-damaged car.
My drive took me past Florida Lake.
Touches of Autumn tinging the trees.

I took a left turn and drove alongside the lake.
Lovely place!  Many memories.

A brief pause to refresh...
Thank you God for everything.

Patio Project - Ready for the Ceiling!

Finally...
All supports prepared to attach the ceiling.
This view to the west.

(Lovely promising clouds not visible through the glass ceiling.)

And the view to the east and the bathroom.
The preparing and final painting of the bathroom ceiling is now finished.
The dangly electrical cables are for the ceiling downlights to come.

Since there are no 'workmen' (most of the time) wandering around,
(except Ishmael and Sylvester periodically, who are used to us and we to them,)
Glenn works along quietly and steadily by himself most days,
all is actually proceeding most companionably.

To help collect the 'bits' on shoes before entering the kitchen
and the diningroom, I put these old sheets
at the two doors.  They really help.
I shake them off periodically and proceed with my part of our life peacefully.

Beautiful work Glenn!

A Visit to the Sole Provider at Clearwater Mall

Friday evening we went along to Ocean Basket at Clearwater.
Lovely fountain just outside the place.

I loved these two delighted children running around the fountain.

Glenn and Vi enjoyed delicious sole and chips.

You can't see it here, but the sky was lovely as the sun set.

Such a lovely late afternoon/early evening.

Our Saturday Afternoon Drive

This year our Sunday Church schedule is 12:00 noon to 3:00pm.
This creates a long and often lonely day for Vi.

Last Saturday and the one before we went 'for a drive.'
Where to?  Wherever we go... and wherever we get to.

Saturday we went West.
We ended in Randfontein.
We found this spot to park and have our picnic
of tuna sandwiches, tomato wedges, cucumber and carrot sticks,
chocolate chip cookies and water or juice.

It was a lovely outing!
There is SO much progress the whole journey!
New houses for people of various incomes all over.
Increased maintenance wherever we looked.
(Except the potholed suburban roads in the area we found ourselves...)

The view ahead of us as we sat in the car.

The view to the left of us.

We made a lovely memory.

Hair the Second Day

This is how my hair settles now on the second day after washing and curling.
It settles a little more the next day and stays like that for the rest of the week.

Short enough, and also long enough to tie into a ponytail
and keep me cool enough in the hot weather.

This length and style seems to suit my hair.

Ordinary Days...

 "Every day will be ordinary
unless you choose to make it special."

Josephine Jerachi's mother to her.

I  was thrilled to see this Hoopoe in our front garden.
I watched this little bird for a while.

I thought of you Angela.
Remember the model you made once upon a time?
