A couple of months ago a group of us gathered for lunch at the Mission Home.
A project was proposed by Michelle Shaw and accepted:
Since we have had a prolonged postal strike and perhaps
our missionaries would not be able to get their parcels sent from home...
Let us gather together supplies and pack a parcel
for each of the 200 missionaries in our mission.
Today we gathered again - another group of people -
and packed a shoe box of supplies and a goodie bag for each missionary.
I liked this Christmas table-scape in the mission home.
Some of the shoe boxes
Some of the bags for presents
Some of the stacked shoe-boxes
Wrapping the shoe boxes with nine items in each -
tie, deodorant, pen, CD, journal, socks, toothbrush, soap, ball
These are the food goodie bags
A larger amount of the boxes.
Still fifty or so to go in a few days time.
Tidying up.
And home to spaghetti bolognaise for supper.
I was really glad to be a part of the beginning and
this part of the end.
Perhaps I will be able to go for the final packing.
It's been great to bless the lives of our young men who come from all over the world.
Our two local missionaries come from Palau and Utah.
